If you're looking for a great way to spend some time during the summer learning about and experiencing the outdoors, check out these camps and events.

Montana Envirothon: 2021 Dates TBA, Fergus Co. Fairgrounds, Lewistown, MT

The Montana Envirothon assists high-school age students learn more about five different natural resource areas. This program is sponsored by the Montana Association of Conservation Districts (MACD) and cooperating agencies. The Envirothon offers hands-on instruction and problem solving for environmentally concerned students. Five-member teams made up of students from the same school enrolled in grades 9-12 compete locally and regionally with the winning team advancing to the state competition. Sponsorship is available through your local conservation district. The state competition for the Envirothon is held in Lewistown.

Montana Range Days: 2021 Dates TBA, Beaverhead Co. Fairgrounds, Dillon, MT

Montana Range Days is an annual event that celebrates the importance of rangelands in Montana! Dates and location for 2021 are yet to be determined.This three-day competition welcomes people of all ages allowing fun for the entire family. The event rotates across the state every two years. The competition is separated by divisions: Buckaroos (4-8 years); Super Starters (9-11 years); Wranglers (12-13 years); Youth (14-19 years old and have not graduated from high school); and, Adult; Open Adult; Rancher Division (contest optional); and, Management Tour Group (no contest).

Montana Natural Resources Youth Camp: Dates TBA, Lubrecht Experimental Forest, Greenough MT

Campers attending the Montana Natural Resources Youth Camp spend one week at the Lubrecht State Forest east of Missoula learning about forestry, water, soils, geology, range, wildlife, recreation and having a lot of fun. The camp is open to all youth entering grades 10-12. Camp fee includes meals, supplies, and lodging. Sponsorship may be available through your local conservation district.

Montana Youth Range Camp: Dates TBA, C Bar N Ranch, August, MT

Range Camp is a four-day program open to all students entering grades 7-12. The camp provides students the opportunity to become aware of the value and potential of Montana’s largest resource--RANGELAND.

Registration fee includes meals, lodging, and supplies. Sponsorship may be available through your local conservation district.

American Rescue Plan Act 2021

The American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (PUB. L. NO 117-2 SEC 602 (c)(1)(d)) provides state and local aid to make necessary investments in water and sewer infrastructure. The 67th Montana Legislature passed HOUSE BILL 632 which directed the federal funds available under the American Rescue Plan Act for use in Montana. Section 1 – Section 5 address how the federal funds will be distributed to necessary water and sewer infrastructure projects. House Bill 632 created the Infrastructure Advisory Commission who will oversee spending on water and sewer infrastructure projects along with the Governor of Montana.

Registered users can only work on one online application at a time.  Once the application has been completed and submitted, the registered user can start another application.  DNRC recommends that applicants download the application materials "offline".  Once all of the application materials are ready and supporting documents are ready, the registered user can quickly fill out the online application, click submit and then will be allowed to apply for a new one.

Links to online materials are provided throughout the grant application guidance.

Public Notice Resource Conservation Advisory Council Meets February 23

The Resource Conservation Advisory Council (RCAC) will hold its next meeting February 23, 2022, at Lubrecht Experimental Forest in Greenough. The meeting will take place from 9 am-12 pm. A virtual option will be available. The Council will review 223 grant applications and make funding recommendations for DNRC to approve.Feb 02, 2022
